Description
This Ice Ice Booby complete pack includes 2 x breast ice / heat bead gel packs and 1 x perineal heat / ice pack, specifically for women to help to decrease pain and inflammation associated with birth, breastfeeding or breast surgery.
Breast Pack intended uses:
Heat Therapy ~ Breast Heat Packs (Heat in microwave or warm water)
Warm and apply the breast packs prior to breastfeeding and expressing to assist in relieving blocked ducts and help encourage the milk let down reflex and flow. This will then help minimise the time spent breastfeeding and expressing. Heat therapy also helps with general breast pain and tenderness, and aids in prevention of mastitis.
Cold Therapy ~ Breast Ice Packs (Freeze in freezer)
Use as a breast ice pack after breastfeeding to relieve pain and inflammation of the breasts. Cold therapy can help to relieve pain and tenderness associated with engorgement, mastitis, blocked ducts and general discomfort associated with breastfeeding. A soothing aid for mums.
Other Uses ~
These specifically designed breast heat and ice gel packs can also be used for women recovering from breast surgery and help relieve any pain, tenderness and swelling associated with the post-surgical phase. They can also be used while supressing from breastfeeding to help soothe the breasts.
The Ice Ice Booby Breast pack includes covers to provide a protective barrier for the skin.
Perineal Pack intended uses:
Cold Therapy ~ Perineal Ice Pack (Freeze in freezer)
Designed to fit comfortably in your underwear, the perineal ice packs will help reduce pain and inflammation of your bits “down under” post childbirth. The perineal ice packs will become your best friend in the 24-48 hours post childbirth.
The Ice Ice Booby frozen perineal pack can also provide relief from birth trauma, symphysis pubis dysfunction, vulval varicosities and haemorrhoids.
Heat Therapy ~ Warmed Perineal Pack (Heat in microwave or warm water)
When heated, the perineal strip can provide heat therapy during the second stage of labour to help the surrounding tissues stretch and reduce the risk of perineal trauma. A warmed perineal pack can also be used prior to antenatal perineal massage to help provide comfort and help the tissues to stretch.
The Ice Ice Booby Perineal pack comes as a set of two, so you can always have one ready to use.
NOTE: For optimal hygiene, we recommend wrapping tissue paper or a maternity pad around the perineal packs to protect the skin. For hygiene reasons, we recommend washing your perineal ice and heat packs after each use in warm, soapy water followed by a rinse with cold water. To ensure quality and integrity of your packs, store in a plastic container between uses.
Instructions:
To use as cold packs, cool in your freezer until frozen. Place in the protective covers and leave in place for 20 minutes, before storing back in the freezer for next use.
To use as warm packs, you can heat in your microwave or warm them up in hot water. DO NOT overheat your bead gel packs. We recommend initially heating each pack for no longer than 10 seconds in the microwave, and if not warm enough, heat each pack for an additional 5 seconds until warm. Do not heat your pack for over 25 seconds in total. Place in the protective cover and place around the breasts.
Wash the packs in warm, soapy water after each use followed by a rinse in cold water to ensure optimal hygiene.
Materials: The Ice Ice Booby heat and ice packs are approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). The outer material is made from PVC and the inner beads are composed of water, glycerinum and super absorbent polymer (SAP). Although these materials are non-toxic, they are not for human or animal consumption. Please keep out of reach of children at all times. Not tested on animals.
Disposal: It is perfectly normal for the gel beads to break down over time due to their composition. For this reason, we recommend purchasing new packs with each baby for hygiene reasons. You should also discard your packs any time they are punctured, pierced or leaking. Please dispose of each pack in the household rubbish and not down the drain.
